IYF-Initial Phase: Planning

The delegates were selected based on the essay submitted, we would select delegates based on how enthusiastic they were on joining the event and on the topic of human rights and Sustainable development goals. We approached panellists based on their experience and their quality to able to reply to the delegates with unpredictable questions that they may have to face. The participants were divided into Panelists, delegates and a moderator. The Panelists and delegates were setups as face to face to directly communicate and for the clear vision. Panellists’ information could be seen by the delegates clearly, delegates were provided with their identity card with their name and country of representation. Moderator would sit beside the panellists, he would be moderating if the delegates went out of the topic and control the flow of the message. The moderator would also assist in paraphrasing delegates’ language if any problem were to be noticed. The questions raised by delegates must be answered by the panellists from their experience and understanding of the agendas of the UN and UDHR.

Final Phase: Evaluation

The feedback on the event was somehow satisfactory from all the delegates. They would love to participate again at this conference but if some changes were made. We gathered verbal feedbacks from the organizing partners, schools, institutions, students, teachers and everyone. Evaluating the first day and the second day, I think both days were productive and effective. The main objective had been achieved which was foremost high in priority, entertaining the international delegates were somehow satisfactory and they also enjoyed it. We had a photography session as well, we had honourable guests to let us go forward on this conference and wished us good wishes for the coming days. Observing, the crowd there was unsatisfactory areas where we could have aced but due to lack of manpower and support in finance, we were not able to ace this conference out. The registration fee and sponsorship from a few PR had provided a break-even for the budget we had proposed. However, This event was on loss.

IYFTaipei2020:

Even though the first objective was achieved in IYF 2017,2018,2019, we still had some incomplete objectives. 17 sustainable development goals were to be addressed but only a few of them had been actually addressed with the panellist, this conference was held to support 17 sustainable development goals. The delegates seemed to be clueless about some development goals. Moreover, 30 human rights articles were not even touched. Thus, with an aim to touch all 30 articles of UDHR and 17 sustainable development goals we are bringing back IYFTaipei2020. This time we will try to engage youths in the agendas for 2030, goals to be achieved by 2030. Expected Dates will be May 28–30,2020 with the support of YHRI-Taiwan and Taiwanese Industrialist MR. Lee.
